Also known as “Seabees” these special combat engineers have a storied legacy of creative field ingenuity, stretching from Normandy and Okinawa. USMC historian Gordon L. Rottman wrote, "that one of the biggest contributions the Navy made to the Marine Corps during WWII was the creation of the Seabees". This specially produced campaign book was often made and produced specifically for a World War II combat veteran in the specific battalion. These served as a post-war souvenir of their victories and success.
