Description: This is a WWII era quick attachable chest (QAC) parachute pack. This type of parachute was most commonly issued to bomber crewmen on aircraft like the B-17 and B-24. "Red group" models had the hooks on the chest pack, and the connecting D-rings on the harness. Beginning in 1944, packs were physically marked with red labels to identify the hardware combination to prevent a deadly mis-match in combat. This pack was originally made by Irving for paratroop use. This vintage pack has upgraded with the missing components and converted over with the proper nomenclature to the AAF style for collecting/reenacting. An original red ripcord has been added and proper wartime style hooks installed. The bungees are original to the pack. The backside of the pack has the extra reinforcements and handles characteristic of late war paratroop model production. This is largely hidden when attached to a harness however. The vintage construction really helps it look the part. If you are looking for an economical stand-in for the real thing, this pack is a killer deal. If you are looking for a high end, exact reproduction, please message and we can help with that as well. NOTE: last of three packs available! This last one has some minor fading on the top flap. It's pictured in the last photo. This ships flat to save shipping costs. If you would like it shipped packed out with foam for display, please message.
