The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Otto Ammer Otto was a Private and is shown wearing the Marksmanship Lanyard and visor. He fell on June 10, 1940 near Rilly, France at the age of 26. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.
