Description: ATLAS "MUSTARD" by WOOLSON SPICE COMPANY, TOLEDO VERY strange spice container..., about 33% full. To my untrained eyes it is a true spice tin with a very OLD "twist to shake" lid that is crumbling. The thick RECTANGLE paper label is adhered to the FRONT ONLY. Nothing on sides or back. The body itself seems to be wrapped in plain red paper, then sealed with a coating. It has absorbed a dark oil from the bottom up, but very sporadically. There is no sign whatsoever of residue on the sides or back from removed labels. The front label is a perfect rectangle with a thin blue border, not at all what you would expect if a homeowner, attempting to save a nickel at the turn of the century, cut a label from another can, creating this one-off... Could it possibly be an 1880's original production attempt? If so the age from 1900 would be 124 years..., at 1882 when Woolson Spice Company was started..., 142 years. As much as they were used in household cooking, and nobody was concerned about collecting them :-), most found their way to the trash and burn piles. This one is a survivor as it is not empty. $hipping most economically via Ground Advantage where "my cost" is "your cost", same / next day, and eBay will combine w/ other listings of mine. Sincere thanks for visiting :-) Mark
