Description: Up for auction today is this completed book (album) of 18 vintage1957 Cleveland Indians black & white 5 X 7 photographs in an album sponsored by Sohio gas stations. They each have a signature however the signatures are copies and not original. This is Roger Maris’ rookie season. That year his first home run was a grand slam off of the Detroit Tigers. The black and white photos in this album are as follows: Ray Narleski, Herb Score, George Strickland, Bob Lemon, Rocco“Rocky” Colavito, Bob Usher, Early Wynn, Jim Busby, Gene Woodling, Mike Garcia, Bob Avila, Al Smith, Don Mossi, Jim Hegan, Roger Maris, Chico Carrasquel, Vic Wertz and Russell Nixon The outside cover of the book is in used condition with stains. There are staple pressings on the cover from the pictures inside being affixed by original staples inside. The front has a few scribbles and a few words including what looks to be a child’s name which are all written in marker which has faded somewhat from the years. The back cover shows wear from the years and some staining. Inside of the album are (18) eighteen 5x7 black and white photos of some of the Cleveland Indians team. Each photo has been stapled to its corresponding page. Each page has been stapled at least three times with still being able to lift the photo at the bottom to read the bio underneath each picture. But because each picture is stapled, please know that the staples have pressed into the pages next to it. Each photo has a bio underneath that you lift the corner to view. The first page of this book has the Cleveland Indians records and the last page has a long bio of Kerby Farrell, the manager. Each picture is in very nice condition however as stated above, they each have at least 3 staples into them done by the original sponsor when originally given out. Some of them have 5 staples because the page on the flip side has a picture stapled to it on the other side too. All corners of the pictures are nice and no pictures have any marks on them. The outside of this photo album shows the most wear. The photo album in my pictures is the exact photo album that I’m selling here.
