Description: We are selling this vintage, hand carved Weeping or Shy Buddha wooden statue that we recently found at an estate sale. We bought it from its original owner who told us that it was crafted in Indonesia. We love the striations and movement in the wood and appreciate the time it took to carve a lump of wood into something so beautiful. There are different interpretations of this statue: “Weeping Buddha” also known as Yogi Man, and Orang Malu (Shy man), and there are many symbolic and spiritual meanings behind the weeping Buddha. The symbol of weeping Buddha symbolizes that Buddha is crying for the suffering of the World and his angst for the persistent sorrow in our lives. Rubbing this Buddha statue's back gives peace and strength. The weeping Buddha is believed to take away your pain and be a source of happiness and joy in your life.
