Description: VINTAGE 1960'S *LIONSHEAD* @ VAIL SKI POSTER IN ABSOLUTE MINT CONDITION! Here we have an amazing Vintage SKI poster of LIONSHEAD @ VAIL from the late 60s/early 70s. The town of Lionshead was established and built as the base village to Vail Ski Resort. The resort had it's first ski season in December 1962 and remains the 3rd largest ski resort in North America. Originally founded by Pete Siebert and local rancher Earl Eaton. Siebert, with other former members of the 10th Mountain Division, returned to Colorado after WWll with the intention of opening a ski resort. Vail mountain rises from 8,120' to 11,570'! The skiers featured here are enjoying a beautiful start to a powdery day! The poster measures 21" x 30" and is printed on quality heavy paper stock. It has been stored flat & never been rolled and is 'FREE' of any nicks, tears, creases or pinholes. This is an original 60's printing ~ not a recent reproduction piece ~ printed by Looart Press in Colorado who ceased business operations in the 1970's. FREE USPS Ground Advantage shipping in the US.
