Description: VERY RARE F. A. Brockhaus catalogue circa 1915 - GOOD - Design, PR - In GERMAN Funky Christmas / Everyday Funky These books etc. come from my father-in-law's estate. We have an entire weaving and yarn shop inventory to sell that was filled to the brim. This book was found in a locked glass bookcase in my father-in-law's yarn shop. This book is in GOOD condition. The spine is broken at the front cover seam. There is no dust jacket. Front cover has broken off the spine. Back cover has minimal damage but there are two 1 inch breaks in the right center edge about 3 inches apart. Actual front and back covers have some damage, and are made of what appears to be corrugated cardboard. No marks or highlighting in text except for two notes in pencil on the front inside page. Pages are crisp, clean and mostly unmarked. Cover lies flat. Some color illustrations and photographs. Illustrated, collectible, 1st edition. This book is in German. We do not speak German. Sigh. The oldest pictures with a date show one for 1915, and as this appears to be a catalogue of some sort, we are assuming the pictures are up to date, so we used the date of the oldest ad we could translate. There are a few pages that show photographic techniques. Some of that pages are super-thick, and almost beyond a cardstock. F. A. Brockhaus was a huge publishing conglomerate. We also think this may have been in a library, somehow, but there are no stamps or library card holder. There is a note on the spine that says, "Miscellaneous pictures - German captions." That is all we see. Please see pictures. Also, some of these pictures would be suitable for framing and would be great in an Ad Agency. Please NOTE: Old books are heavy books. We are doing the best we can with interior lighting for the pictures. Also, please NOTE: Almost every book has a smudge somewhere. We mention it if we see it, but please assume we missed something. PLEASE NOTE: Because eBay is composed of soulless, bloodsucking monsters, and because it is forcing us to use an ISBN number for a book that DOES NOT have an ISBN number, and even when it DOES have an ISBN, still won’t let us use it, so we use one of a random book. Our book is pre-ISBN numbers. The Library of Congress number is not in the book as this was produced in Germany. The LOC does not hyphenate when you put the number in to verify. Fake ISBN number is 9781014236289. Correct ISBN number is non-existent. We put in whichever one the system will take. Sorry! Note: We are running out of estate books and will be slowly changing over to their other possessions – some serious, some MCM, some just funky, or kitschy. Others are Depression era. Some will be brand new items, still in their packaging, and others will be more mainstream books (from one of the Grandma’s) or some of our personal books or collectables, as we are not leaving this mess to our kids. They are shipped by Media Mail in heavy brown paper, similar to a grocery paper bag. All wrapping and shipping materials are recycled from the cardboard to bubble wrap to 50 year old envelopes.
