Description: This US Air Force Challenge Coin is a rare find for any militaria collector. The coin features an enameled design and measures 2 X 1/8 inches. The coin's intricate design showcases an outline of Afghanistan with the wording of OP ATTENTION ROTO 3 above and AFAMS-ADVISORY TEAM below. Not sure what the former means, but believe the latter stands for AIR FORCE AIR MOBILITY SQUADRON ADVISORY TEAM. The obverse has SHOHNA BA SHOHNA at the top. Translated is "SHOULDER TO SHOULDER."As this coin came from an Air Force Sergeant who was a medical worker in Afghanistan involved in teaching the Afghans, the wording does make sense. In researching, I have not been able to find any such coin to compare it to. Another fine piece of fairly current military challenge coins. This practice, actually, has been going on for 100 years. I hope it will go to a collector of such items as it is a real beauty.
