Author's inscription on half-title page. Blue cloth covered boards with cream cloth covered spine. Author's signature stamped in gilt on the front panel. Spine has title and author's name in gilt against small black panels outlined in red and blue, with publisher's name stamped in black at tail of spine. Cream cloth is lightly soiled. Upper external page edges are salmon-tinted. Previous owner's book plate on front paste down. End papers are a dark salmon color. External and lower external page edges are age-toned as are internal text pages, else book is internally clean. Text block is sound. Dust jacket is a bit yellowed and soiled, more obvious against the white backgrounds. Spine is lightly sunned. All folds are lightly scuffed. Chipping along head of jacket spine with rubs and creases, loss of up to 1/8". Upper left corner on front panel has a 5/8" c-shaped closed tear with adjacent diagonal creases. Upper left fore-edge corner on back jacket panel is rubbed and chipped with loss of 3/8" by 1/2" along the fold. Minimal rubs at other fore-edge corners. Several additional closed vertical tears of 1/4" - 3/8" along upper and lower edges on front and back panels, as well as small chips and rubs. Inside front flap has 2 1/4" by 1" price clip on the lower corner. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition description.
