Description: A set of the five main Lewis Barnavelt / Rose Rita Pottinger books by John Bellairs!! All hardcover, all the original illustrators and covers you remember! These books are in wonderful condition: The House With a Clock in Its Walls is a slightly smaller “Just For Boys” printing, but otherwise identical to the original, including with all Edward Gorey illustrations. This is NOT an ex library book. The Figure in the Shadows is a lovely copy, also a Weekly Reader Children’s Book Club edition. Otherwise identical to the original, including with Mercer Mayer illustrations. Visible on the back cover is a small spot where a sticker has been removed and taken a bit of the cover with it. This is NOT an ex library book. The Letter, The Witch, and the Ring is in excellent condition, first edition (fourth printing), an ex library book that has the library card holder on the inside first page, and a discard stamp along the bottom of the book, and a spine sticker. Illustrations by Richard Eglieski are ones to remember! I rarely see a cleaner ex-library book: the cover is nearly pristine, and is in a clear jacket. A rare book (rarest in this set) in great condition! The Ghost in the Mirror is in excellent condition, first edition, second printing, an ex library book with standard stamps and spine sticker. The pages look great and are pristine. Again, a very clean cover. Edward Gorey illustrations throughout add to the atmosphere of this gothic thriller! The Vengeance of the Witch Finder is in excellent condition, first edition, first printing, with a small library sticker at the top of the back cover. All of the books have clean pages and covers, and are in great shape. The Dial library books are wonderfully nostalgic editions, and look great next to each other. It’s rare to see the Lewis Barnavelt books together in hardcover in such good shape. These will ship together and will be safely packaged with padding in a book “sandwich” between cardboard and bubble wrap in a correctly-sized box. Happy to answer questions about this collection.
