I have been working with children in the educational and mental health fields for the past twelve years. Engaging children in the Early Childhood Education field has filled my heart with joy. Some of my fondest memories have included reading books to the little ones and listening to the classroom fill with their giggles and belly laughs! Such unbridled joy is contagious. I am a huge believer of challenging children. Having worked in the Head Start division of a non-profit agency in Cincinnati, I was reminded how critical early literacy is to children. Exposure to an expanded vocabulary, used in the correct context, can broaden a childs vocabulary and increase their school success. I have most recently worked with elementary and middle school children as a Quality Mental Health Specialist for the same non-profit agency referenced above. I own my own business, as well, for the past 11 years. I handle the marketing and accounting functions of the business and have thoroughly enjoyed learning the ins and outs of social media for marketing our products and services. I am mom to 3 amazing children, two of whom are now college-aged adults, and one talented nine year old who helped me co-author and co-illustrate our debut childrens book about our hilarious and super sweet Labradoodle, Sammie.
