Description: The Best Of Mario Lanza RCA Red Seal LSC-2748(e) 12" Vinyl Record Description Up for sale is a vintage The Best Of Mario Lanza 12" vinyl record from 1964 issued by RCA under their Red Seal Label with a catalog number of LSC-2748(e). The album cover states that the Stereo Effect on this album was reprocessed from Monophonic and there is an additional catalog number that can be found on side 2 on the inlay which reads (RRRS-0861) to the right of the aforementioned catalog number of LSC-2748(e). I'm not sure if this is suggesting that this record was a reissue of some sort, or if it's just distinguishing between the mono and stereo versions of this particular release. To be fair here, your guess is as good as mine. The track listing for this album are as follows... (Please note that the run times are listed on the back of the album cover and not on the inlays of the record itself). Side 11. Be My Love (3:28) 2. And This Is My Beloved (from "Kismet") (3:20) 3. Funiculi' Funicula' (2:28) 4. One Alone (from "The Desert Song") (3:33) 5. Serenade (from "The Student Prince") (3:25) Side 2 1. Only A Rose (from "The Vagabond King") (5:29) 2. Loveliest Night Of The Year (from the MGM film "The Great Caruso) (2:47) 3. Santa Lucia (2:37) 4. Arrivederci Roma (3:16) 5. Because You're Mine (1:59)6. Vesti La Guibba (from "Pagliacci") (3:31) The matrix numbers on the innermost groove of this vinyl record appear as follows... on side 1, the code is a stamped typeset that reads RRRS 0860 24S. Further on down the groove a stamped 1 or I? can be seen; which I'm assuming must be the run out for this code. On side 2, the stamped typeset number reads RRRS 0861 17S, and just a bit further on down the groove, a 1 or an I can be seen once again. The album cover has a fair amount of wear on it from storage and previous use. There are some signs of yellowing on the otherwise white portions of the cover (particularly on the back) along with some fading on the front with some staining from all the dust that had accumulated on it at one point. The spline exhibits some wear on it as well... with a bit of album material loss here and there, but nothing too serious. The inner paper sleeve has also yellowed quite a bit from general age and has developed a minor tear on one of the sides, but it's nothing too serious. This record sleeve also has some cellophane-like material covering the porthole for the inlay, so that the vinyl record is pretty well protected when kept in the cardboard sleeve. This album also includes an tri-fold opera & vocal catalog (on RCA Records & Tapes) which appears to be in decent shape; considering its overall age and whatnot. It has some minor noticeable creases here and there on the pages along with some yellowing from general age, but again, it's really nothing too serious and pretty surprising to see in this condition. As for the record itself; it may have some scratches and/or fingerprints on it from previous use. Because I don't have a working vinyl record player at my disposal, I have no means by which to test this record out on, so I'm selling it in as-is condition. I'm pretty sure this will make a fine addition to any discophile's record collection out there, despite its cosmetic flaws, so be sure to get in on this deal while it still lasts; as I'm pricing it to move.
