Description: VERY RARE Victorian 14ct Rose Rolled gold Albert watch chain Necklace and a beautiful fob locket with four little rubies attached on a long suspension drop , this is from my private collection. Looks GORGEOUS on . The chain Is Curb link and hefty and weighs app 21 grams.. Beautiful 9ct gold chain from a reputable jeweller , which was on sale for $159 and a gorgeous fine trace link chain . Hallmarked 375 on the bolt ring clasp, The color,of the locket is a beautiful yellow,gold … that rich buttery hue not like the brassy yellow gold color of today . Any dark areas on the locket are reflection only I used to wear this very large locket which is from my private collection in USA and got lots of beautiful comments about it… everyone loved it and its so eyecatching .. but its just been in my jewellery box since 2005 . However now with a matching 9ct gold chain its a stunning ensemble!! HISTORY & HALLMARKS & ORIGIN Era: victorian era locket Origin: UK Hallmarks: chain hallmarked 375 9ct and is Australian yellow gold and the victorian locket has none noted but prior to 1907 hallmarks were not required on gold. Tested by a jeweller as solid gold . . The centre of this double sided locket pushes out to change the photos and the internal rim is solid sterling , anything not visible in these times was often made this way,Sizing: The very large locket measures 4.4cm or 1 3/4” drop from the gold soldered hang ring by 2.8cm or 1 1/8”:wide , it is easy to change the photo but ive left the ones i put in it…it has fine glass one side and the other side is covered with a glassine But looks like glass you really cant tell any different The gold chain is 44cm or app 17 1/2” long and hallmarked 375Weight: 10.5 grams..SUMMARY In overall excellent antique condition . No dings or dents etc As stated the chain is rose gold filled ..it has not been polished for many years and still is so lovely and shiny …as i do not polish unless specifically requested as antique dealers buy from me and prefer them as they are . PLUS A SOLID 9ct GOLD CHAIN TO COMPLETE THE PICTURE I test all diamonds and stones and gold with electronic testers, but prior to 1907 gold was not required to be hallmarked. All gemstones will test the same whether they are natural or manmade except for diamonds .
