Based on the serial, this one dates to August 1999. The watch houses a Cal. 8F56 features a perpetual calendar quartz movement accurate to 20 seconds per year. For setting instructions you can check the Youtube video on how to reset it, but any watchmaker can properly change the battery when it indicates it is running low by skipping seconds to avoid the reset; the perpetual calendar needs no setting other than daylight savings. This is a pretty rare 8F56 watch and was the most expensive amongst the Perpetual Calendar series at 800,000 Yen. It features a sapphire crystal with bullet magnifer that is in excellent shape with no deep scratches or chips. The dark green dial is very mysterious - depending on the light it changes between deep black and dark blue-green (hard to photograph but easily appreciated on the wrist). Lume still good strength and dial and hands in excellent condition. Few light scratches on the titanium alloy case and caseback. Bidirectional 24 hour click-rotate bezel is a tad stiff bu turns completely. Titanium screw-down crown secures well; the easy-to-degrade original O-ring was replaced. Date change occurs properly in mid-crown position by changing the hour hand; this moves a cool ultrasonic motor that drives the date wheel. GMT marker rotates properly with crown fully pulled out. Battery with red insulator was changed is a couple years old; should last another 6-8 years. Water resistance is 200m but the watch has not been pressure tested. The original 21mm/9mm full titanium alloy bracelet fits my 7.5 inches wrist with all 2 extra microadjustments; there are 1 full and 2 half links for a full bracelet set. No box/paper/tags. This series house one of Seiko's best quartz movement with a very useful GMT function; don't miss on this beauty with an amazing amorphous dark green dial!
