This vase is a perfect addition to any collection and is sure to be a conversation starter.ROOKWOOD Coral Matte Incised Carved Wnite Flowers w-Gold Dusting Vase, 1887 by Anna Marie Valentein after marrying Albert in July 1887, where upon she changed her initials on her vases from AMB (Anna Marie Bookprinter to Anna Marie Valentein-AMV).This vase shape may have been started by her in 1887 and this one is either an experimental piece, as it has incised, carvered flowers and leaves in white, a coral matte glaze, with a dusting of gold in specific places to accent this design, if it was a Rook experiment then it may have cost to much to put in production due to the extra work involved, carving, gold etc..Or it was a design idea from a potential customer and cost to much to be sold. Both of our Anna Marie Bookprinter till July of 1887, then anna Marie Valentein after July 1887 would have been done by her as she was one of the decorators held in high regard from 1854 till 1904, when her & Albert left Rookwood for California start a new Art Pottery busines of their own. Perfect! Measures: 5 inches tall, 4.25 inches deep, 3.5 inches wide, base is 3.75 inches flat RW initials all correct.
