Description: MY LIFE ON A NAPKIN Pillow Mints, Playground Dreams, and Coaching the Runnin’ Utes Written by Rick Majerus with Gene Wojciechowski and published by Hyperion, New York; copyright 1999. The back of the title page states “First Edition,” and the numberline contains the one showing this to be a first printing. This book has been inscribed in black ink on the half title page by Majerus, “To Dom & Norma, Friends & fun, Go Ute! Rick Majerus P.S. Nice son - Congrats!!”. This book is not at all common. The paperback often sells for more than $50 on Amazon. I have seen copies advertised for $1500! This one is priced far more reasonably. From Wikipedia: Richard R. "Rick" Majerus (February 17, 1948 – December 1, 2012) was an American college basketball coach. He coached at Marquette University (1983–1986), Ball State University (1987–1989), the University of Utah (1989–2004), and Saint Louis University (2007-2012). Majerus' most successful season came at Utah in the 1997-98 season, when the Utes finished as NCAA national runners-up. Majerus died of heart failure in a Los Angeles hospital on December 1, 2012. From the dust jacket description: In March 1998, basketball fans all over the country watched in amazement as Rick Majerus’s Runnin’ Utes almost won it all, losing in the final minutes to perennial powerhouse Kentucky. Suddenly everyone was talking about Rick Majerus--how he upset office pools all over the country by making it to the championship matchup against the Big Blue, how funny he was on Leno, how he turned a basketball program that hadn’t been to a Final Four title game since 1944 into NCAA elite, how a team of mostly unknowns shocked Arizona and North Carolina, and how the chubby kid from Sheboygan came to be one of America’s most quoted and most respected coaches. DESCRIPTION: 247 pages 9 1/4 x 6 3/8 inches Signed first printing; hard cover with dustjacket, gray paper covered boards with a maroon cloth spine CONDITION: This hard-cover book is in fine, like-new, condition with a fine dustjacket. The cover is very clean and shows little to no wear. No remainder marks. The interior is excellent with no names or marks, underlining, tears or odor. Majerus’s inscription on the half title page bled through to the title page so there are a few little dots of black floating around on that page. The hinges and binding are excellent with no loose or missing pages. The dustjacket is complete with the price still intact or uncut on the front flap. Little to no wear shows--no tears or creases. This is a very nice copy even without the signature. BECAUSE MEDIA RATE SHIPPING IS FREE ON THE BOOKS I SELL, COMBINE THIS WITH OTHER ITEMS FROM MY EBAY STORE.
