The Williams cleaner was a bullet issued to Union Troops to be fired every 10th round to clean the powder residue from the musket and improve accuracy! Many soldiers did not think they were as accurate as the standard 3 ring Springfield Minnie ball and dropped them without firing it. This bullet was probably dropped during the battle and accounts for it's good condition with the zinc ring still attached
