Description: Offered for sale is a pair of TWO wine / champagne glasses / stems in the "Prelude" pattern of Elegant Depression Glass. They are in VERY GOOD condition. There are an additional three glasses / stems with slight damage if the buyer wishes to have them - buyer's choice. The "Prelude" pattern was originally manufactured by the New Martinsville Glass Company of West Virginia. Later, the Viking Glass Company continued to make the pattern beginning in 1943. This pattern was made from the 1930's through the 1950's. These two wine / champagne glasses stand 6 inches tall and each hold 4 ounces of liquid. The glasses flare outward at the top and have what is referred to as a "ball stem". The white "Prelude" etching is etched onto the outside of the glasses. These two stems are in VERY GOOD CONDITION with no chips or cracks or discoloration. I do also have an additional THREE MATCHING STEMS and each has some rim damage - please see the photos. I will send these along with your two purchased stems IF YOU WISH free of cost - if you do not wish to have them, just let me know. I identified this pattern in the book "Collectible Glassware from the 40's, 50's, 60's" by Cathy & Gene Florence (10th edition - copyright 2010 - pages 196-197). This is a very pretty pattern and fun to collect as you can find it here and there. Please see all of the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase. The stems will be wrapped extremely well and should arrive safe and sound.
