Description: NOTE: There is ONLY ONE spoon for sale. I took photos on light & dark backgrounds and included the best photos of each type. Excluding tarnish, the spoon is an even silver color and ANY NON-silver colors are reflections. Up for sale is this Exceptionally RARE Vintage ORIGINAL Sterling .925 Silver SOUVENIR SPOON that is engraved in bowl: PARKER PEN CO. ~ (Arrow Park building) ~ Janesville (Wis). The spoon was manufactured by the Manchester Silver Co of Providence, Rhode Island (1914-1985). Spoon HANDLE is EMBOSSED with the United States Eagle, Wisconsin State Seal (Forward), US or WI State Capital building with people, a US? flag of some sort (a bunch of stars are visible), and the word Wisconsin. Parker Pen's "ARROW PARK" manufacturing facility opened in 1953 and was built in the now classic 1950s Modern Style of architecture. This sterling spoon measures 5 3/4" long by 1 1/4" wide and weighs a respectable 21 grams (about 0.68 troy oz sterling). Please enlarge and look at ALL photographs to see details & condition. This would make a GREAT addition to ANY PARKER PEN / Company, Sterling Souvenir Spoon, Wisconsin Souvenir, or historical collection. Update 12/11/24: An eBay user told me their relative worked at Parker Pen for 45 years and retired in 1995 and believes the spoon was an Employee Recognition of some sort. If you know the history of this souvenir spoon and how it was obtained, please let me know.Original theories: #1. I believe it may have been made for Parker executives when the Arrow Park plant opened. #2. I know the company was famous for giving tours of the factory through the years, so perhaps it was sold in the gift shop where the tours ended. That would explain why it seems to be rarer than most of the employee / executive rewards / gifts that are hard to find, but appear more frequently than this souvenir spoon. I consider the spoon to be Exceptionally RARE because I can't even find ANY MENTION of this spoon anywhere online!!! Worthpoint, which has almost 17 YEARS of eBay sales, finds NO prior sales in their data. I have discussed this spoon with some local / Janesville, WI area, multi-decade collectible/antiques dealers and they have NEVER seen one before either. I also know of several Parker Pen dealers that have never seen one either. Recently there was a major Parker Pen (and other brands) collection that was auctioned over 4 dates by someone that personally knew one of the Parker's. I was at all 4 auctions from start to finish and that collection didn't have this souvenir spoon either!!! Spoon will be carefully packaged and BOXED.
