RALEIGH - United States Navy Protected Cruiser - U.S. Navy Patrol Vessel - PRE - WORLD WAR ONE PHOTOGRAPH. If you look at right edge of photo, there is another ship following The Raleigh, possibly The California, not sure. The United States USS Raleigh (C-8) was a United States Navy Protected Cruiser of the Cincinnati Class, commissioned in 1894 and in periodic service until 1919. Original black and white photograph has a nice clear image of the U.S.S. Raleigh in reflective waters. Photograph has shiny highlights when held at angle to light and bottom edge has "Raleigh" written in pencil. Rear of photo has pencil text "U.S.S. RALEIGH 1912", written on top edge. Photo is approx. 5-1/2" wide x 3-3/8" high and come as pictured. Photo has only light signs of handling on edges and corners. Photo has a light diagonal crease in center.
