Description: Up for sale is a Nishiki Olympic 27" womans touring bike. It has a 53cm frame and is a 10 speed. This bike is in good shape and has a smooth ride. Could use some new tires, but the ones on it hold air.The brakes work great and everythings works fine. From the frame numbers I have determined it was made in July of 1977 for the USA market. Nishiki is a brand of bicycles designed, specified, marketed and distributed by West Coast Cycle in the United States, initially manufactured by Kawamura Cycle Co. in Kobe, Japan, and subsequently by Giant of Taiwan. The bicycles were first marketed under the American Eagle brand beginning in 1965[1] and later under the Nishiki brand until 2001. West Coast Cycle was founded by Leo Cohen Sr. and RosaBelle Cohen. Howie Cohen traveled to Japan to find new sources for bicycles, and especially, a Japanese bicycle factory capable of producing high quality bikes that would be welcomed by U.S. independent bike dealers and the bicycling community; bicycles that would be able to compete with American and European-built bicycles. The Olympic, although a mid-range model, offeres a really decent frame and componenty. componenty. The frame is made of butted Japanese Tange tubes, which are robust yet still reasonably light - a prefect choice for a large bike. Please message me with any questions or if you need more pictures. Thanks for looking. Buddy
