It took off some hair but not all. Doesn't smell BAD, but not terrible either. Melted ok, but I also have a smaller microwave so I think if I had a larger microwave it may have worked better. It is easy to heat up in the microwave. You just apply it to the area, let it dry and peel it with your hands, easy and no extra equipment needed.Great Product ! Now I can tolerate the eyebrow and upper lip are pretty well but anywhere else is dreadful to me. I did have a hard time at first getting a section to use to rip with but once I caught on, it was easy going. The was got a firm grip on the hairs. The oil does help with the residue. I have to say, this was the most effective at home wax I have used. Other than melting a small amount to experiment with, I found it far more effective and user friendly than the pre waxed strips. They were easy to use, melt in the microwave as per the instructions. I will say, the smell was supposed to be strawberries and cream.
