This book is from a series of books that were "Home Twilight Stories," which were stories to be read to children by their mothers at the twilight hours at the end of the long, busy day. These collections of stories for children were published by James Miller Publisher, New York. The Miller publishing house was noted for its focus upon publishing books and series of books for children. The book is undated, likely published circa 1850-1860. The Miller Publishing house ceased operations in 1861 following the death of James Miller. The book is bound in the original publisher brown blindstamped cloth binding. Cloth has darkened with age, as have the pages containing illustrations. There is some minor dampstaining evident. Front cover hinge is cracked. Book is unmarked and quite respectable. I will call it Very Good. Book measures 4 3/4 X 76 1/8, 246 pages plus publisher advertising at the rear of the book.
