Description: This auction is for a two-sided photocopy of a vintage Mopar Direct Connection Engine Swap Manual. This piece was written by Chrysler Corporation in the 1970s and has 24 total pages. My uncle was an engineer at Chrysler Corporation in the 1960s and 1970s and we found the original document for this in his work files after he passed away. The introductory sentence of the piece captures its purpose well, reading "This bulletin is intended to help improve the performance of vehicles intended solely for off-road use in sanctioned competitive events." The second page continues, "Beginning in 1962 Chrysler has built many special production Super Stock package cars, such as the 1865 426 Hemi Belvederes or Coronets and the 1968 Hemi Darts and Barracudas. In the quest for high performance cars many enthusiasts have desired to build duplicates of these package cars. Many car buffs want to just swap an old tired mill for a bigger, higher performance model. With these ideas in mind, an engine swap can be greatly simplified by the correct choice of basic pieces or combination of parts. In this manual, we will attempt to provide the basics of Chrysler engine conversions." This manual covers 1964 through 1972 A, B and E bodies and A, B, RB, Hemi and 6 Cylinder engines. This is a very unique find and provides tremendous insight to what Chrysler recommended back in the day to get more performance out of your car by swapping out engines. Please see the photographs for details. Happy bidding!
