Description: Dimensions: 7-1/8" tall, 2-1/4" diameter mouth, 3-3/4" diameter base Holds 1 liter of liquid. This antique is one of the original patents/designs of Mason's jars and has what's called an "abnormal shape" for a mason jar. It is aquamarine in color and has a zinc lid (some tarnishing) with the original porcelain seal that reads Consolidated Fruit Jar Co New York still intact. The front of the jar is embossed with "Mason's" above the "Patent Nov. 30th 1858". The back is embossed with a "Hero/Maltese Cross". The bottom of the jar reads "Pat Nov. 41" with the numbers "996" in the middle. There are several bubbles in the glass from manufacturing & the rim of the mouth is chippy and rough. Pre-owned condition. See photos for details.
