Description: This is an amazing piece that I found years ago and had framed. I didn't even know these existed until I saw it in a toy shop. I looked and looked until I found this one. It is framed professionally with a beautiful retro color suede aqua fabric which picks up nicely on the colors in the map. The map colors are incredibly beautiful, especially the oranges. Many colors that we don't see used anymore. They just have that vintage look. This 5 record set was originally released in 1955 the year the park opened. It was designed for kids all over the country who did not have the ability to visit the park. A way to hear the sounds and stories of all the various lands. I was able to find a recording on the internet. The voices are so different from the way they were later portrayed in cartoons, etc. Genius marketing in my opinion. The beautifully illustrated map was an artist rendering of one of the original layouts for the park, which is somewhat different from the final design. Very interesting detail. The bumps you see in the close up shots of each record is due to the original thin plastic covering which was over each individual record to protect it from scratching. I did not want to remove it or make any changes to its original condition. It was never used or played. The original envelope on the far left of the piece is the way it was packaged. What I also love about this piece is the old fashioned price stamps you can see on the piece that were put on there most likely by the shop that was selling it. Looks like it was marked down a couple of times! Measurements: 54 1/4 inches wide, 17 3/4 inches tall and the frame has a depth of 1 1/2 inches. It is a beautiful metallic bronze frame that compliments the piece. This was actually a frame that was on another piece we bought at the Disney Gallery at the park and we were able to match it at a frame shop. We selected plexiglass instead of glass since it is lighter weight. Please ask any questions before purchasing. All sales are final.
