Description: One-of-a-kind, vintage ceramic demitasse espresso cup and saucer, in beautiful (and hard to find) goldenrod mustard yellow color. Produced by hand in Lucca, Italy. The cup and saucer are in like-new condition, with shiny finish and no chips, scrapes or other imperfections. Each piece is inscribed Mamma Ro' (see pictures) and the saucer features a gorgeous Mamma Ro' logo in center. Measurements: * Cup: 2.5” diameter; 2.125” H * Saucer: 5.125” diameter Mamma Ro' was founded in 1967 in Lucca, Tuscany with a small production of artistic ceramics made by the Pierallini family, who created very colorful objects with unusual shapes using an ancient technique of Etruscan origin called "lucignolo". Mamma Ró’s beautiful ceramic pieces were carefully hand-crafted by skilled Italian artisans, making no two pieces exactly alike. The variations in finish or appearance are the mark of a unique hand-worked item. The company opened its first"Bottega" in 1985 but after more than 40 years, ceased production in 2017.
