This tab came from Vintage Productions in Los Angeles, and if you know them, they only deal in high end cloth Insignia. This tab was removed from a store display jacket that was used in a sew shop in Japan during the Korean War. The workers wore these jackets to show what was available. A well-known article was written a few years ago in the ASMIC journal about this very jacket from which this Ttabwas removed. Photos are posted on the auction of the article.
