Description: Later Library of Congress silver gelatin print from the original negative shows a trolley car #50 on the streets of Holbrook, Massachusetts. Caption at bottom reads, “OUR FIRST ELECTRIC, SEPT 17th 1892 - HOLBROOK, MASS.”. Photo by Chas. W. Lincoln. View shows the trolley in the town of Holbrook with a motorman in stripped pants and town citizens gathered around. Painted on the front and side of the trolley reads, “BROCKTON STREET RAILWAY”. In 1901 the Brockton Street Railway Co., merged with South Shore & Boston Street Railway, West Roxbury & Roslindale Street Railway, and Globe Street Railway Co. and became the OLD COLONY STREET RAILWAY CO. Photograph measures 8 x 10 inches and is in very good condition with only a few light bends at the border areas (see scans). The image is very sharp and has strong tones with good contrast and clarity. Back has LIBRARY OF CONGRESS credit stamp Please email with any questions and please "VIEW SELLERS OTHER ITEMS". Thanks. I combine shipping up to 3 prints for the same price as 1. NOTE: I will be listing a number of early trolley and railroad photos. Please check back and view on my ebay store Vintage Photo Works.
