Description: Department 56 All Hallows' Eve Dickens' Village Series "Jack-of-the-Lantern Item #56.58561 The legend of Jack of the Lantern is one in which Jack was a man who played mean tricks on many people throughout his life. Upon his death, Jack is let neither into heaven or hell, but is doomed to wander the Shadow Realm until Judgement Day. When Jack points out that he has no light to find his way, the Devil gives him an ember from the fires of hell. Jack puts the ember in a hollowed out turnip, thus beginning the practice of using turnips and gourds as lanterns. Introduced in 2002 and retired in 2005. Original styrofoam and display sleeve are in very good condition. Battery operated (batteries not included). Battery compartment is like new, no corrosion. See photos for specifics.
