Description: A new bolt is not needed unless it is missing from your mower. This listing includes a new bolt and locking nut. I am using the stock bolt without locking nut nor thread lock and it has never felt loose when I've removed the deck or belt when working on the mower. The bolt from your original retainer bushing can be reused and you can find my other listing for ]less money if you don't need the bolt and nut. The belt on my 30" troy bilt riding mower kept falling off the pulley one day after some unknown event (a friend was using it at the time, ha) . The stock retainer bushing allowed for enough clearance for the belt to come right off. After it happened about 3 times in one day I made a larger diameter bushing with metal outside surface to tolerate the belt coming into contact with it. I designed it with an off center hole to allow for adjustment of the clearance. I may change the design at some point but this has worked fine for me for lots of hours of mowing, and lots of blade engage/disengage testing. Just set the distance to allow a small amount of clearance. You don't want the belt rubbing on this non-stop so best to set the distance larger and make it smaller only if needed. The stock bolt can be reused and I have a separate listing if the bolt is not needed. A 3/8 ratcheting box wrench fits decent to make this job fairly easy without removing anything on the mower. You may need skinny arms to get in there or else the pulley bracket may have to be undone. Don't over tighten the bolt to where the plastic inner bushing is smashed.
