The official website and the book case state that this is the Japanese version of Sylvian's photo book "Perspectives" published in 1984, but the book design is completely different and the images included are slightly different. Furthermore, this book contains correspondence between Sylvian and Ryuichi Sakamoto written in English and Japanese. It explains how in 1982, he temporarily stopped his music career and started using Polaroid as a source of inspiration for his creations while drawing the pictures he liked, and how he tried to make collages from those photos with his own concept and design. It also explains how, although he was unaware of this at the time, he found out the following year that David Hockney and others were creating similar works, and how he decided to compile these works into a collection, and how Ryuichi Sakamoto was involved in the Japanese version, and how the design was an idea from Hajime Naruse, with a bellows binding inspired by a Buddhist sutra book.
