Description: Child Size Wooden Japanese Sandals, 8 inches long, age unknown, possibly early 1900’s, wear to the red paint on the wood especially at the back, the toe thong of one has slightly unraveled and pulled out of the wood sole, the gray paint on the bottom is worm from use, wear to the brass plating on the front guards of the sole, these sandals show wear from use so they may not have been just souvenirs from a Japan trip, the cloth of the tops is a wool velvet with a design that is over painted on top with silver, the wood of the top is hand painted with flowers, there are brass bells inserted in holes on either side of the wedge near the back, these bells tinkle when you would walk, very charming pair of vintage Japanese Sandals.
