Big John’s Texaco was located in Waxahachie, Texas. The 1949 Dodge Power Wagon 4X4 was chosen because of its unique, ruggedness and its contributions to many farms throughout the United States in the 1940s and 50s. Many of the Dodge Power Wagons had rear PTO setups to where they were able to plow and run other farm equipment. Many oil companies used the Dodge Power Wagon after WWII, it’s ruggedness and 4WD capabilities were needed by the oil companies to operate in the Texas oil fields. This truck was made by First Gear for John Colwell of Waxahachie, Texas and licensed by Texaco.This truck is a nice collectible for any Texaco, Dodge Power Wagon, Mopar, Waxahachie, Texas or Colwell Oil collector. This would make an excellent gift. First Gear Stock #18-2480, second in the Big John’s Texaco series. This is a 1/30-scale diecast replica and about 7 ½ inches long and 2 ½ inches wide. The hood opens revealing a detailed 230.2 cu. in. 6-cylinder L-Head engine. The tailgate also swings open and features real support chains. There were a total of 720 trucks produced in 2000.
