Description: Traditional three-panel huipil with dense traditional lace handmade on a waist loom with elaborated brocades within the same panel. 100% cotton. The traditional techniques of 3-panel huipiles involve intricate weaving processes, including openwork created directly on the loom with a second set of heddles to form patterns and gaps in the fabric, making it perfect for warmer days. These methods, passed down through generations, result in garments that are rich in cultural heritage and artistry. It takes one month for the artisan to create each one. All textiles are handmade by a Mixe women community in Chiapas. Please keep in mind that these garments are handmade with cotton from Chiapas and Oaxaca, and due to this certain inconsistencies in the fabric are natural and unavoidable. The handmade quality and traditional techniques applied in the garments give them a beautiful and authentic feel.
