Atari CX2600A "Sunnyvale Four" w/Sixer Bottom! LOW SERIAL NUMBER!

Description: Vintage Arcading The Earliest Sunnyvale Four? For your consideration is an excellently functioning Atari CX2600A Sunnyvale four switch (aka Woody), console. These are not quite a 'unicorn' in Atari-world, but they are collectible and somewhat rare nonetheless. Made in Sunnyvale, California, it is speculated that these units were the initial runs before the molds were sent overseas for full production. This auction is for the console only. It was manufactured in the 38th week (mid September) of 1980, designated by the heat stamp. This was the earliest known build dates of the four switch consoles. All original, this particular unit has a light sixer bottom with the controller port cover, making it even more rare and collectible. Atari would use up as many of the parts from the "sixer" production run as it could, incorporating them into the new four switch model. This console also has the yellow-gold lettering and paint accents on the bezel (all original) and a control port cover which is VERY difficult to find. Most were bent up or pulled off, as they were very thin, this one is a little dinged up as seen in the close up photo. Very nice faux woodgrain, a little worn on the edge, this console is amazing inside and out. Extremely low serial number tag, I have only seen one other like this, so it is legit and extremely collectible. Very early revision 5 motherboard...you just never see these at all. Would make a great addition and conversation piece to any retro gaming collection. The following I have done...
