Its motherboard is fully socketed!! This allows for very simple troubleshooting and upgrade capabilities, as simply removing and replacing chips is greatly simplified. It is tested and working. It also has installed a rare upgrade kit manufactured in the era, a RAMBO XL 256K RAM kit that when used greatly increases the base memory of the system. The RAMBO upgrade is very useful for programming and allows super fast access to RAM DISK space that is much quicker than a regular speed disk drive. System ships with Atari Assembler Editor Cartridge and Original Assembler Editor User's Manual. The 800XL ships with built-in Atari Basic, and this Assembler Editor Cartridge provides a second programming environment for the beginner or advanced programmer that is working in the vintage programming environment.
