Description: ORIGINAL 19TH CENTURY COLLECTION OF 3 RUSSIAN LITHOGRAPHS INCLUDING EMPRESS ALEXANDRA, CZAR NICHOLAS I, AND CZAR ALEXANDER II This is just a great original grouping. These 3 prints came with an incredible important folio I recently acquired of 24 engravings of the Royal family of Russia. Those are printed on a laid paper and are currently at the restorer getting cleaned and the portfolio being put back together for a major auction. These prints were not part of the folio and are printed on chine colle and thus are much more difficult to clean. But they are quite scarce so I decided to sell them together as a lot as I imagine many collectors would be interested in them as they are. 3 large folio lithographs measuring around 15 1/2 x 12 inches. Chine colle is a process whereby the lithographs are printed on a thin sheet of paper and then laid against a thicker sheet of paper. Because the printed page is so thin it usually suffers from easy tearing along the edging. These have quite a few tears all along all the edges. None of them actually extend into the images. Good dark impressions of each portrait. As you can see there is some obvious staining to each one but nothing that is too bad. Some curling to the edges as well. All 3 have the publishing information that is in Cyrillic. I cannot read it so I dont know who the publisher or artist is. A great collection of 19th Century Russian lithography. Dont miss these as in all my research I could not find another example of any of these anywhere. CHECK THE PICTURES ON THIS GREAT PIECE. DONT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY.
