Beautiful antique (or about to be) 1920s Hudson Bay 4-point multi stripe chief's wool blanket in what appears to my eye to be in excellent overall condition. The blanket measures roughly 90” x 74”, give or take an inch in either direction. Should fit a typical King bed, though there will likely not be any “hang”, and most definitely will fit a Queen. This blanket has the SEAL A-1, the rare double finish with point markings equally visible from both sides, and extra-long fur like nap. The long nap on the blanket was created by hand, using teasels; an expensive process no longer used. The infamous yellow bars are still pretty bright, not faded as with the majority of blankets of this age. These older blankets are far superior to contemporary models in every way, and if you ever wanted a real HB blanket for a good price, this is it. Now for the flaws…the front side is nearly immaculate, though it will likely need to be cleaned. The back side does have a couple of small prominent brown spots that I have photographed beside of a dime for comparison. There is also a smattering of light brown speckles on one area of the blanket’s back side (see last photo).
