Description: Antique Hand Colored Photo A Meadow Stream J Ranson Anthony in Magnificent Original Frame. Frame measures 14 3/8" x 18 1/8" that fits 13 1/2" x 17 1/4"; the photo alone is 7 1/2" x 9 1/2". Hand written in fountain pen ink title and artist signature. The photographer is a very obscure artist who did New England White Mountains scenes same aer and style as Charles Sawyer, David Davidson, Wallace Nutting and the others. He is listed in the Michael Ivankovich books but Ivankovich lists him as J P Anthony (he mistook the middle initial) so he is a listed landscape photographer. I collected Sawyer photos for years and liked these lesser known folks. Guaranteed a genuine 1910 era landscape hand tinted photo in original frame. Label on back shows it was cleaned with new backing paper added back in 1989.
