Description: Offering for sale quality pair of antique Paris porcelain cornucopia vases produced by Jacob Mordecai ,known as Jacob Petit and made in France. Circa 1835 - 1845. The cornucopias are perched on a soft peach rectangular base, and the body is intricately hand painted with gilded floral and vines ornaments. The pair of cornucopias are good condition, with minor wear to gilding, minor scratching and no chips. One of the vases inside the horn deep down to the bottom has a firing line, another firing crack on a scroll, on the same vase. Firing line/cracking most times does not diminish the value. (See the last two pictures. ) The firing line is the fault that can occur during the firing. It is the "cracking " that occurs in fired ceramic bodies as a result of a thermally induced stress and is caused by a ware cooled too quickly after it has been fired. Usually It is never to go through the hole body of the object . Mesurements.
