Alice in Chains autographed Pearl Jam Flyer 01/17/1992

Description: This item is a 4.25x5.5 inch, pink photocopied flyer with info for the Pearl Jam fan club and a 5.5x11inch poster for a My Sister's Machine show from 1992. On the back they are signed by Alice in Chains members Sean Kinney, Mike Starr and Jerry Cantrell. These were obtained in front of the Moore Theater in Seattle on the night of 01/17/1992 after the Pearl Jam concert where they filmed the Evenflow video. Here's the story.... i was a 15 year old metalhead that went to see the Pearl Jam show with a couple of friends. We were dropped off in Seattle at the Moore by my friend's older brother, who was supposed to pick us up afterward. After waiting, for what seemed like forever, to get into the theater we started chatting up a fella that looked like he had been inside from the cold for a while. He told us that he had just started playing drums for Pearl Jam and his name was Dave. We thought he was full of it, until Pearl Jam took the stage later, and there he was behind the drum kit (I guess they kicked him out years later). This was the infamous show where the Evenflow video was filmed and Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam climbed all around the venue. The video shows it a bit, but it was way more impressive and cool in person. The show was amazing. Afterward we ran into Dave again at the merch booth. I bought a shirt and talked to him about the show a bit. We filled our pockets with any free flyers or posters we could pull from tables or off the walls as we left the venue. My friend's brother was nowhere to be found, so we waited. And waited. And waited. After a while we were the only people on the block in front of the Moore Theater when some people came out the venue's front door. I recognized them immediately as Layne Staley, Jerry Cantrell, Mike Starr and Sean Kinney from the band Alice in Chains. I was a huge fan! What were the chances that all four of the band members would be here together? I immediately approached them and told them I was a big fan and that I played guitar. It was raining and they were in a hurry so we asked if they would sign something for us. Our pockets were full of flyers to sign, but none of us had a pen!!! I thought for sure we were out of luck until Layne walked over to the front door of the Moore Hotel and started banging on the door. The hotel was closed but there was somebody at the front desk who tried to wave him away. Layne started banging harder and kicking the door until the guy finally come and opened it. Layne asked if he had any pens. The guy wend inside and brought out a Sharpie and ballpoint pen! Layne, Jerry, Mike and Sean all proceeded to sign our flyers. Layne and Mike Starr used the ballpoint to sign the back of a flyer for a show with My Sister's Machine, Paisley Sin and Dirt Love. The show was on the same night at The Backstage and offered $1 off entrance with your Pearl Jam ticket stub! Sean and Jerry signed the back of a pink flyer containing info for the Pearl Jam fan club with the Sharpie. Sean asked my name and wrote "Mike - Pot" After signing, they all walked off into the night. Eventually my friend's brother arrived and picked us up.
