Description: I am selling the notes I used to study for the Advanced Placement Calculus test I took in the spring of 1983. I received a 5 (the highest score) on the test. If I remember correctly, the first hour of the test was multiple-choice questions followed by problem sets with a break in-between. During the break, I remember turning to a friend in amazement and telling him how shocked I was that I didn't need to guess on any of the questions and that I was certain I answered each of them correctly. (It was the first and last time in my academic career I ever accomplished that feat on a standardized test.) I attribute my success on the exam to the excellence of my calculus teacher as well as the notes I used to study (the 16 pages of which--four are pictured above--I am now offering for sale in the hope that they may aid fellow test-takers). I studied these notes until I knew the material inside out. Most of the notes are in my own hand with the last two pages written by my amazing teacher, Barbara Napholtz from the Morristown-Beard School in Morristown, NJ (who still works there!). I assume the contents of the AP test have not changed all that much in the 40+ years since then, so I hope these notes will prove helpful. (On a side note, I reached my limit [as it were] with calculus with this test. I enrolled in a multivariate calculus class during my first semester in college and received a 12% on the final exam, which was the [tr]ignominious end to my mathematics studies.)
