Description: You are looking at a 475HP crate Gen IV LS aluminum block 5.3L engine that has been built thoroughly, modified, and upgraded. These are somewhat rare, as most 5.3L blocks are cast iron. This saves about 100lbs over an iron block and these are the strongest aluminum blocks made by GM featuring the thickest cylinder sleeves, making this a great foundation for any build. The rotating assembly was thoroughly inspected and cleaned with the cylinders freshly honed. New, high quality flat top pistons with new rings were properly gapped and installed for optimal compression. Oil bearing clearances were properly measured and new King rod and main bearings were installed. Cam bearings were replaced with brand new and upgraded Durabond units. The problematic factory timing chain tensioner was replaced with a more reliable LS2 chain damper to support the new HD LS2 timing chain. The engine features a genuine Melling m295 oil pump which offers less cavitation and 10% more oil pressure than the stock pump. It also has a 302-2 Holley style swap oil pan which fits a very large percentage of truck and muscle car swap applications. A brand new Texas Speed camshaft was installed with proven and reliable GM LS7 Lifters and brand new GM trays. This camshaft features a duration of 229/244, .629/ .615 lift, with a 112 LSA making this great for mid range torque and high rpm power. Should have a slight chop and will be very street-able with a tune. Factory pushrods were replaced with stronger and stiffer one-piece chromoly pushrods. The heads are factory high flow LS6 243 cathedral port heads with hollow intake valves and sodium filled exhaust valves for high rpm stability. The cylinder heads were thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt with new BTR head gaskets. The heads have a new BTR .660 lift dual valve spring package and new valve seals to perfectly match the camshaft. The engine also has upgraded BTR rocker trunion bearings to withstand the extra spring pressure and make the rockers more reliable overall. Compression is 10:1. Brand new NGK TR6 plugs, all tty fasteners on engine replaced, including head bolts. Every bolt torqued to proper spec. Great for pump gas and even a power adder, if desired. All seals and gaskets were replaced with GM, BTR, and Fel pro gaskets. With long tube headers and a proper intake manifold this combo will be good for a very easy 475 horsepower, but may vary slightly depending on intake manifold/exhaust choice.
