Description: Artist: P.B. Frame Size: 22.5" x 26.5"Visible Artwork Size: 19.5" x 23.5"Medium: oil on canvas This painting shows a cowboy roping a calf for branding, with other cowboys branding another cow in the background. It's in good condition, however there is a drip line of varnish on the painting to the left of the main cowboy. It's in the original wood frame with a natural wood exterior and silvered interior border. The frame has some scuffs along the left border near the top, and there's a chip on the back edge of the frame on the other side. This painting is by an unknown artist, signed "P.B.". The back has a business card from The Cauldron, in Fort Collins, Colorado. I found an obituary online of Barb Marquardt, one of the owners, and it said she operated The Cauldron from 1979-1987. My best guess is that the painting was sold at The Cauldron art gallery during that time.
