The service was at First Presbyterian Church in Springfield, the church attended by Abraham Lincoln and his family. Prayers of commitment included one for the new governor, Republican Bruce Rauner, who would spend his one term feuding with Democrats in the Legislature and not agreeing with them on a budget for 2 ½ years.
