Description: This deluxe boxed press kit if for the James Cameron THE ABYSS. Starting Ed Harris, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Michael Biehn. Press Kit contains 14 b/w 8x10s, and two colored glossy spiraled production booklets. Movie press kits of the 1980s – 1990s that are being offered in these auctions were the marketing tools of the studios to present promotional and informational content to various media, such as newspaper, radio and television. The main purpose was to promote and assist movie critics with their reviews. Before the digital age materials were hard copies. Images were photos and production notes were paper printed in folders and physically mailed to media outlets. Considering that some of these materials are nearly 40 years old they are in very good condition. Materials, mostly the folders and notes may show wear from original mailing, content use and years of storage. Photos have no tears, pinholes or folds and most are in near mint to very good condition. Photo counts will be listed below on the item description.
