Description: 1894/7 diary kept by an unidentified female school teacher likely from Locke, NY. There is mention of catching trains back to Locke. The first part covers January through May of 1894 and the remainder is January through November 1897. She must have been fairly young because there is mention of going with her Pa to a nearby town and purchasing her desk. There are entries about disciplining students including whipping, keeping students after school for "shaking" and lecturing, etc. She even chased a boy around town one day. The 1897 portion reads as though she was no longer teaching. Daily life looks like baking, chores, etc. Approx. 3.5" x 5."
